The Magic of Love

The Magic of Love

As much as we try sometimes, love can not be controlled by our minds.  It is instead what we feel in our hearts.

The Magic Of Love

Love is like magic
And it always will be.
For love still remains
Life’s sweet mystery!!
Love works in ways
That are wondrous and strange
And there’s nothing in life
That love cannot change!!
Love can transform
The most commonplace
Into beauty and splendor
And sweetness and grace.
Love is unselfish,
Understanding and kind,
For it sees with its heart
And not with its mind!!
Love is the answer
That everyone seeks…
Love is the language,
That every heart speaks.
Love can’t be bought,
It is priceless and free,
Love, like pure magic,
Is life’s sweet mystery!!

Imagine That

Imagine That

We all know the classic song Imagine by John Lennon, a song that will be forever remembered by old as well as new generations.  And John Lennon will be forever remembered for his passion to bring peace and love to the world.  Imagine, if he had lived longer, what he would still be doing to create awareness and compassion for the injustices on this earth.  John Lennon claimed he was a dreamer but we all know he was much more than that.  We should all be dreamers in our own way.  Dream about the life you would like to lead and dream about the positive changes you can bring about in the world.  Then, bravely act on your dreams.

IMAGINE THAT

Imagine a world with no judgement,

A world with more acceptance.

Imagine a world with less hostility,

A world with more kindness,

Imagine a world with less hate,

A world with more LOVE.

Imagine that.

Happily Content

Happily Content

Happy are those who only want what they already have.  For many, we already have what we need.  It’s more a matter of realizing this and cultivating the appreciation for it. There is nothing wrong with wanting to improve a situation but getting caught up in a cycle where nothing is ever good enough will lead to unhappiness.  This is especially true with material goods.  Always looking to obtain the next best thing – a bigger house, a fancy car, the newest IPad – and comparing yourself to what others have, will always lead to a feeling that something is missing.  Instead, look to what you do have, and be honest with yourself – is it enough?

With a Little Help from Our Friends

With a Little Help from Our Friends

Some people seem to have so many friends and other people only have a few friends. What matters most is the quality of those friendships.  The amount of friends we have should not be a competition.  Some people try to rack up the amount of friends they have on Facebook to somehow prove they are popular (and loved).   How wide your circle of friends is is more a reflection of what type of person you are and the lifestyle you choose to lead.   More introverted people generally have a small circle of friends but that circle can be very intimate and intense.  Those who are very social might have a large circle of friends but it’s likely most of those friendships are not deep loyal friendships, although some will be.  What matters is that we have at least one or two close friends we can confide in and who will not judge us.  We all need that acknowledgement and acceptance.

Make Yourself Happy

Make Yourself Happy

Do not depend on others to make you happy.   It is up to you to make yourself happy. Looking for others to bring you happiness is likely to result in disappointment and resentment.  Instead, cultivate a way of life that makes you happy.  Like the photo above states, you need to plant your own garden.  Not only do you need to plant it, you need to nourish it consistently to make it grow.   Do the things that make you happy, surround yourself with the little things that give you pleasure, and maintain a grateful spirit for all the blessings in life.

Love Yourself First

Love Yourself First

You must feel worthy of love yourself before you can fully love others.  To feel worthy of love you must like who you are.  Your self-esteem is a crucial element in any relationship.  It is very difficult to feel love towards others when you are not feeling love towards yourself.  Greater self-esteem is developed through accomplishment, having a sense of purpose, supportive friends and family, confidence, gratitude, and a positive outlook.  Believing in yourself and living your own life to the fullest opens up your heart to the possibilities of others.  Dream it, live it, and love will flow throughout it.

Love Quote by John Lennon

Love Quote by John Lennon

“We’ve got this gift of love, but love is like a precious plant.  You can’t just accept it and leave it in the cupboard or just think it’s going to get on by itself.  You’ve got to keep watering it.  You’ve got to really look after it and nurture it.”  - John Lennon

John Lennon certainly got this right.  Love needs to be nurtured and cared for and it needs to be a two-way street.  Both parties need to make the effort to keep it growing. Love will die if one or both parties does not actively work to keep it alive.  It’s like a newborn baby.  Feed it and care for it and it will flourish.

A Time for Gratitude

A Time for Gratitude

Always take some time to reflect upon all the good in your life.  Even in hard times, focus on the positive and feel the gratitude for what is right.  Enjoy the following poem, some very wise words.

Be Thankful

Be thankful that you don’t already have everything you desire,
If you did, what would there be to look forward to?

Be thankful when you don’t know something
For it gives you the opportunity to learn.

Be thankful for the difficult times.
During those times you grow.

Be thankful for your limitations
Because they give you opportunities for improvement.

Be thankful for each new challenge
Because it will build your strength and character.

Be thankful for your mistakes
They will teach you valuable lessons.

Be thankful when you’re tired and weary
Because it means you’ve made a difference.

It is easy to be thankful for the good things.
A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who are
also thankful for the setbacks.

GRATITUDE can turn a negative into a positive.
Find a way to be thankful for your troubles
and they can become your blessings.

The Soul Within

The Soul Within

What lies within us?.  That is the important question we should all ask ourselves.  We all have the power to actively improve ourselves but how many people actually harness that power and use it?  Our character is what most of us will be remembered for.  Are we kind, are we generous, do we actively try to make the world a better place?  These are the qualities we should work on.  Take ownership of your character.  We are the sum of our choices, own it.  Your life can be changed by unforeseeable events but what matters most is how we react to the events.  This attitude in life is a major part of your character.  Are you happy with your character?  What can you do better?

Recipe for Kindness

Recipe for Kindness

We just love this poem we came across.  Please enjoy and share.

Recipe for KindnessBy Georgy

Fold two hands together

And express a dash of sorrow

Marinate it overnight

And work on it tomorrow.

Chop one grudge in tiny pieces

Add several cups of love

Dredge with a large size smile

Mix with the ingredients above.

Dissolve the hate within you,

By doing a good deed

Cut in and help you friend

If he should be in need.

Stir in laughter, love and kindness

From the heart it has to come,

Toss with genuine forgiveness

And give your neighbor some.

The amount of people served

Will depend on you,

It can serve the whole wide world,

If you really want it to.
